We saw Macaroni Penguins only at Cape Lookout on Elephant Island.
Macaroni Penguins belong to the "Crested Penguins",
along with Rockhopper Penguins.
Macaroni Penguins have a crest of yellow feathers that meets over
the forehead.
Most of the Macaroni Penguin colonies at Cape Lookout are located
on the steep cliffs of a small offshore island.
.
The Macaroni Penguins appear to prefer bare smooth rocks. There
are a few Chinstrap Penguins mixed in with these Macaroni
Penguins.
