Go to the Home PageThe annual Camarillo airshow was held on August 28 and 29, 2004. It featured the aircraft of the Southern California Wing of the Commemorative Air Force and Chapter 723 of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Celebrating its 24th year, the 2004 show pays tribute to more than 60 years of history and growth of the Camarillo Airport.

The Bushmaster 2000 was seriously damaged in a crash at Fullerton on September 25. Her two pilots were critically injured.

Stearman PT-17, N79997 Stearman PT-17, N79997 was built in 1942. Its Stearman construction number is 75-4266.

North American SNJ-5 Texan, N1038A War Dog North American SNJ-5 Texan, N1038A War Dog was built in 1944. Its U.S. Navy Bureau Number was 90917 and it still wears that number on its tail. It has been a familiar sight on the airshow circuit for many years. It is owned and piloted by John Collver.

North American AT-6G Texan, N5289V North American AT-6G Texan, N5289V flew for the Air Force as 49-3179 has very unusual landing gear.

Beechcraft RC-45J, N75018 Beechcraft RC-45J, N75018 carried many passengers aloft over the course of the day. It was built in 1944. It flew for the Navy as BuNo 29585, and it still carries that number. It spent a number of years in the collection of the Pima Air Museum near Tucson, Arizona.

Convair C-131D Samaritan, N131CW Convair C-131D Samaritan, N131CW flew for the Air Force as 54-2809.

Lockheed EC-121T Warning Star, N548GF Lockheed EC-121T Warning Star, N548GF was built as an RC-121D. Its Lockheed construction number is 4363. The EC-121T designation reflected its conversion from airborne early warning to electronic reconnaissance.

Fiesler Fi-156C Storch NX41FS Fiesler Fi-156C Storch, NX41FS was built under license by Moraine Saulnier in France in 1944. It has been registered to Steve Ericson since 1997. It is based at the Milestones of Flight Museum at Fox Field near Lancaster. Its original 8-cylinder inverted-V engine has been replaced with a horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine.

North American T-28A Trojan, N81643 North American T-28A Trojan, N81643 served the Air Force as 49-1643. Its construction number is 159-155. Norman B. Dennis Jr. of Brookneal, California registered it as N9674C in 1966. Robert Eggmann of Belleville, Illinois registered it as N28RE in 1978. Edward A. Buerckholtz of Chesterfield, Missouri registered it as N81643 in 1985. It has been registered to Round Power Limited of Reno, Nevada since March 4, 2004. Its owner, Gregg Weitzman, recently had it restored in the colors of a T-28A that was flown by the Air Force Test Pilot School at Edwards Air Force Base in the 1950s. It is based at the Santa Barbara Airport.
