On September 30, 2006, the Santa Barbara Airport hosted Airport Adventure, a salute to local aviation emergency responders. A number of airplanes, helicopters, and fire trucks were opened up for the public to examine. The show featured flybys of a North American T-28 Trojan and a Grumman F8F Bearcat. Five more T-28 Trojans arrived later in the morning. A Coast Guard Dolphin helicopter demonstrated the retrieval of a crewman as it hovered overhead. A Cessna Citation and a pair of Aerovodochody L-39 Albatrosses made two passes over the airport.

North American T-28A Trojan, N81643 served the Air Force as 49-1643. Its construction number is 159-155. Norman B. Dennis Jr. of Brookneal, California registered it as N9674C in 1966. Robert Eggmann of Belleville, Illinois registered it as N28RE in 1978. Edward A. Buerckholtz of Chesterfield, Missouri registered it as N81643 in 1985. It has been registered to Round Power Limited of Reno, Nevada since March 4, 2004. Its owner, Gregg Weitzman, recently had it restored in the colors of a T-28A that was flown by the Air Force Test Pilot School at Edwards Air Force Base in the 1950s.

North American P-51D Mustang, NL51PT Petie III was delivered to the Army Air Corps as 44-72145. Its construction number is 122-38604. It entered the civil registry as N6169C. John C. Seidel of Sugar Grove, Illinois registered it as N311G in 1963. Waldo Klabo of Pleasanton, California acquired it in 1978 and flew it as Race #85 Fat Cat. Don Whittington of Fort Lauderdale, Florida acquired it in 1984 and sold it to Peter McManus of Fort Lauderdale soon afterward. Peter McManus and Castlewood Realty of Miami, Florida registered it as N51PT in January 1985 and restored it as Petie 3rd. Castlewood Airmotive of Baltimore, Maryland bought it on August 29, 1986, It has been registered to Jeff Pryor of Santa Barbara, California since March 11, 2005.

Air Cargo Carriers Shorts 330, N390GA delivers packages from Ontario each day for DHL. Three Lockheed P-3 Orions sat idle at the Air Attack Station for the second day in a row. The Day Fire is nearly contained.

Shorts 330, N390GA was registered as G-BJFK by Short Brothers on August 27, 1981. It was delivered to Inter City Airlines on September 25, 1981. British Midland Airways leased it on October 1, 1981 and bought it on August 2, 1983. Short Brothers bought it on March 30, 1984. Air UK leased it on May 6, 1984 and returned it to Short Brothers on January 4, 1985. Spacegrand Aviation Services leased it in April 1985 and sub-leased it to Jersey European Airways on October 125, 1985. National Airways leased it on July 21, 1987. Fairflight Leasing Limited bought it on October 13, 1987. Air Europe Express leased it on April 27, 1989 and returned it to Short Brothers in January 1990. It was withdrawn from use and stored at Exeter, South Devon, UK. It has been registered to Air Cargo Carriers of Milwaukee, Wisconsin since May 19, 1998.

Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat, N1078Z Minsi III. Its construction number is A-5634. John Sandberg recovered it from the Fergus Falls Airport in Minnesota in 1962. It was subsequently owned by Lloyd Nolan from 1972 to 1973 and Ed Messick from April 9, 1973 to 1990. The Confederate Air Force acquired it in 1990. It has been registered to the American Airpower Heritage Flying Museum since 1991. It is part of the collection of the Southern California Wing of the Commemorative Air Force and is based at Camarillo.

North American T-28C Trojan, NX757K was delivered to the U.S. Navy as 140647 in 1954. Its construction number is 226-224. It has been registered to Kenneth Karas of Santa Ynez, California since July 27, 2004.

North American T-28A Trojan, N141BS was delivered to L'Armee de l'Air as Fennec Number 141 in 1959. Its construction number is 174-508. It was transferred to the Argentine Navy in July 1966. William Scully of Marina del Rey, California registered it as N141BS in 1990. It has been registered to Stroeh Corporate Ventures of Incline Village, Nevada since November 28, 1994.

North American T-28C Trojan, N528TC was delivered to the U.S. Navy as BuNo 146253 in 1957. Its construction number is 252-16. Southern California Aviation of Corona Del Mar, California registered it as N912KK in January 1986. Daniel W. Lawson of Las Vegas, Nevada acquired it in 1988. It has been registered to Sandpiper Aviation of Reno, Nevada since January 4, 2002.

North American T-28C Trojan, N9022N was delivered to the U.S. Navy as BuNo 140666 in 1956. Its construction number is 226-243. It was pulled from storage at the Military Aircraft Storage and Disposition Center on November 17, 1978. It was registered N9022N and assigned to County Civil Defense at Jefferson City, Missouri. It was transferred to the Civil Defense Council at Greenwood, Missouri in 1984. Robert L. Waltrip and the Lone Star Flight Museum of Houston, Texas acquired it in 1986 and sold it to Louis E. Fischer of Kissimmee, Florida in 1989. Sherman Aircraft Salesof West Palm Beach, Florida bought it in May 1989 and sold it to Joel C. Hilgenberg of New Orleans, Louisiana in 1992. It carries the insignia of the South Vietnamese Air Force.

North American T-28B Trojan, N815SH was delivered to the U.S. Navy as BuNo 137793. Its construction number is 200-156. John C. Harrison of Sacramento, California registered it as N815SH in August 1985. It has been registered to Zeus Flight LLC of Woodside, California since April 8, 2002.
