Challenger - O ring failure
Columbia - Foam strike

Such insignificant things one might think. But...We've known for ever that rubber gets hard at low temperatures and it loses it's compression and sealing abilities. Foam. We've all stuck something to something else with supposedly 'permanent' adhesive only to have it fall apart either immediately or down the line.

The engineers know this. I'm sure they memo'd warnings about this regularly and I'm pretty sure they were continually ignored for budget reasons.

Foam breaking off. Quick fix? Mesh. A spiders web of netting much like a coarse nylon. Yes I know it's a large vehicle but nowhere near as large as the losses incurred.

Long term? It is time for AG transportation (anti-gravity) so we no longer have to lift people off the earth with gigantic bombs. Am I crazy? No. Can it be done? Off course it can. Will it be done? Not until the oil runs out. It's all about the money - really.

I'm ready to dedicate the rest of my life to the development of AG. All I need is funding.

RIP Columbia and Challenger. Onward and Upward friends.

Christopher Brooks
