North American AT-28D-5 Trojan North American AT-28D-5 Trojan N2496 is registered to Trojan Air Holdings of Anchorage, Alaska. Grumman F8F Bearcat "Wampus Cat", Grumman F8F Bearcat N800H is registered to Talon Investments of Eugene, Oregon. It was built as Navy BuNo 121752. This Bearcat has a lengthy racing history. In the sixties, Tom Mathews flew this F8F as #10, "Tom's Cat". Walt Ohlrich flew it as #8, "Miss Priss". John Herlihy named it "Sweet Pea" and it carried race #8. Harold Beal and Charles Smith gave it the name "Precious Bear", still as #8. Then it spent a while at Biggin Hill in the U.K. Photographer: Brian Lockett.

General Motors FM-2 Wildcat and F7F Tigercat General Motors FM-2 Wildcat NL5HP is a license built version of the Grumman F4F. This one is registered to Howard Pardue of Breckenridge, Texas. It was built as Navy BuNo 86777. It is seen here in formation with F7F Tigercat NX6178C, giving a perspective on the evolution of naval fighter design over the course of World War II. Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless NX670AM is registered to the Air Museum at Chino, California. It was built as Navy BuNo 28536 but delivered to the Royal New Zealand Air Force as NZ5062. After the war it was used as a wind machine by MGM Studios. Wings from another SBD were recovered from Guadalcanal to return this Dauntless to flying condition in 1987. Note the perforated dive brakes and the swinging bomb cradle. "Ridge Runner", North American P-51D Mustang NL151DM is registered to Martin Daniel of San Jose, California. It was built as Army Air Corps 44-13250 but carries tail number 472308. It spent some time in the service of the FA Salvadorena.

"Six Shooter", another P-51D Mustang, is flown by Chuck Hall.

"Val Halla" is marked as a post-war Air Force Mustang. It is flown by Bill Anders who flew around the moon on Apollo 8.
