Air Force Plant 42 in Palmdale is home to two collections of vintage airplanes, Blackbird Airpark and the Joe Davies Heritage Airpark at Palmdale Plant 42. Both airparks are located on Avenue P, adjacent to 25th Street East.

Boeing B-52F Stratofortress 57-0038 Back on November 11, 2007: Boeing B-52F Stratofortress 57-0038 was previously displayed at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds. It is the only B-52F on display. It was transported to Palmdale by flatbed trucks. This is one big restoration project.

Curtiss C-46D Commando, 44-78019A is being restored. There is a pair of C-46 wings nearby.

Back on November 11, 2007: Curtiss C-46D Commando, 44-78019A was formerly in the collection of the Pima Air Museum.

North American AGM-28 Hound Dog missile

McDonnell F-101F Voodoo 58-0324 was formerly used for battle damage repair training at Wheeler Air Force Base, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Grumman F-14D Tomcat 164350 of VF-31 made its last landing at Palmdale on September 28, 2006.

Scaled Composites Triumph N143SC all-composite, 8-passenger business jet.

Canadair Sabre Mk. 5, N91FS was formerly operated by Flight Systems Incorporated at the Mojave Airport.

The vertical stabilizer of Lockheed U-2R, 80-1098 is displayed on the right. Curtiss C-46D Commando, 44-78019A is partially assembled in the background.

Lockheed model 1329 Jetstar, N814NA was operated by NASA at the Dryden Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base. The pylon on the top of the fuselage was used to test advanced technology propellers.

Northrop F-5E Tiger II, Red 06 served the Marine Corps as an aggressor of VMFT-401 Snipers, based at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma in Arizona.

McDonnell-Douglas A-4C Skyhawk, BuNo 145067 was built as an A4D-2N. It was recovered from the Weapons Survivability Laboratory at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake and was formerly displayed at the Inyokern Airport.

North American F-100D Super Sabre, 54-2299 was formerly displayed at George Air Force Base.

McDonnell-Douglas F-4D Phantom II, 65-0696 was formerly operated by Flight Systems Incorporated and then Avtel at the Mojave Airport as N402AV. It launched the first powered free flight of the YBQM-145A at the U.S. Army's Dugway Proving Ground in Utah, near Hill AFB on May 5, 1992.

Lockheed F-104C Starfighter, 57-0915 was formerly displayed at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

Republic F-105G Wild Weasel, 62-4416 was built as an F-105F. It was the first Thunderchief modified to the EF-105F (later F-105G) configuration, flying for the first time after modification on January 15, 1966. It was formerly assigned to the 35th Tactical Fighter Wing based at George Air Force Base.

Blackbird Airpark

Blackbird Airpark is the only place where you can see an SR-71A, an A-12, and a D-21 drone together.

Lockheed U-2D, 56-6721 Lockheed U-2D, 56-6721 was built with a second seat in place of the instrument bay behind the cockpit. It was formerly displayed at the March Field Air Museum.

D-21 drone Mach 3+ D-21 drones were designed to be launched from the Lockheed M-21. After the loss of an M-21 during the launch of a D-21, the D-21s were launched from Boeing B-52H Stratofortresses using solid fuel rocket boosters.

Lockheed SR-71A, 61-7973 and Lockheed A-12, 60-6924 are the featured airplanes at Blackbird Airpark. Lockheed U-2D, 56-6721 can be seen in the background between them. There is a D-21 drone visible in the background under the A-12 on the right.

Lockheed A-12, 60-6924 is the prototype A-12.
